How Come I Don’t Get Enough Allowance To Buy Anything?
Answer: You can always buy something with the money you have, even if it’s very little. You may think you don’t have enough money to buy anything when you look at your allowance, but just because you can’t buy expensive things doesn’t mean you can’t buy anything.
Some people want to buy just about everything they see, so they never have enough money. Don’t be like that. Instead, learn to be content with what you have.
If there is something you want and your parents agree that you can have it, save your money until you have enough to buy it.
Be patient. You can also ask God for opportunities to earn extra money.
Key verse: I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have leared the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with planty or little. (Philippians 4:12)

Note to parents: When your kids feel that they can’t buy the things they really want, teach them to ask God for the things they want and to save diligently.
It’s best not to increase allowances or buy them what they want all the time.
Why Do Kids Get Less Money Than Adults?
Answer: The more you can do, the more you can earn. Adults earn more than kids because they can do more.
They get paid for the skills they have learned. The older they get, the better they are at doing their work, and the more they get paid for it.
And the more skill their job takes, the more they get paid.
For example, repairing a car, being a doctor, keeping financial records, closing a sale, and writing a book are all difficult jobs.
They take a lot of skill. Only people who have been trained and have the experience can do them well. And those people are paid well for the work they do.
Also, many adult jobs carry great responsibility. A person who runs a store has to take care of all the workers, all the products in the store, and the building.
That’s a lot of responsibility. People are paid according to how much responsibility they have.
Be glad you don’t have to earn as much as an adult. Adults make more money than kids, but they also have many more bills and many more responsibilities.
As time goes on, you will learn how to do many jobs through skills, training, and experience. Eventually you will get to serve God in a job that uses your abilities.
Your responsibilities and your income will increase bit by bit as you continue to get more training and experience. Then you will be able to think about getting more money and things.
Key verse: Do you see any truly competent workers? They will serve kings rather than ordinary people. (Proverbs 22:29)

How Are Kids Supposed To Earn Money?
Answer: Kids can earn money by doing work for their parents and neighbors. Maybe you can clean up the yard, wash dishes, wash the car, or run errands.
Most adults like to pay kids for doing those kinds of jobs.
You can also start your own business. Make something that you can sell, or provide a service such as gardening, lawn care, or delivery.
Ask your parents and God for ideas and for good opportunities.
If you really want to earn money, do every job well and always do more than is expected of you. Think about what you’re doing, keep going until you’re done, and never complain.
Key Verses: Work hard and cheerfully at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and the Master you are serving is Christ. (Colossians 3:23-24)

Note to parents: Giving children small jobs to do is a good way to introduce them to work. Make a job list and post jobs that need to be done and how much you are willing to pay for each.
Let your children know they can pick jobs off the list once their regular chores are done. Give clear instructions, show the child what to do, and make sure he or she understands what you expect to find when it is done.
Don’t forget to give praise for a job well done.
